About me,

I am currently a graduate student at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. My research advisors are Prof. Minh N. Do and Prof. Zhizhen Zhao and I am working in the Computational Imaging Group (CIG). I am interested in signal processing, optimization, machine learning and their applications in medical research. I received my M.Sc. from Sharif University of Technology and my B.Sc. from University of Tehran both in Electrical Engineering.


Current and past projects

Single particle reconstruction in Cryo Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM)
(January 2017-present, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)

Developing probabilistic and deterministic techniques to reconstruct density maps and atmoic structure of biological particles from their 2D projection images. Getting to know the overall pipeline including particle picking from noisy micrograhs, 2D class averaging, 3D class average and refinement. Getting to know current packages in the field such as RELION and ASPIRE.

1D signal recovery from noisy translated observations

Developing deterministic and probabilistic techniques for recovering signal(s) from full or partial observations. Targeting the extension of the approach to DNA sequence assembly problem and heterogeneous signals.

Physical layer caching and Coordinated Multi-point transmission (CoMP) in cellular networks

Analyzing rate outage probability in random cache-enabled cellular networks in CoMP scenarios owing mathematical tools from stochastic geometry and optimization.

Cellular load balancing via relay nodes at the cell edges

Traffic scheduling based on the deadlines and the volumes regarding each traffic in offline scenarios in addition to the corresponding mathematical optimization modeling.

Improvement of Content Distribution Algorithms in Opportunistic Networks, Resource allocation of Device to Device communications underlying cellular

Designing feature-based content dissemination algorithms in Opportunistic networks, mathematical analysis of the dissemination rate. Designing heuristic orthogonal, non-orthogonal and semi-orthogonal resource allocation schemes for D2D communications, mathematical modeling of the problem.
